For the limited Japanese restaurants in the surrounding area, Tookaiya takes great pride in preserving Japanese tradition. The staff are uniformed and speak Japanese, they all are attentive to customer needs and quick in getting your orders. The sashimi and sushi were superb. The soup was tasty, the starters satisfying and the main fulfilling. For a real full belly for two of us it cost $140 for food a small saki plus four lemonades.

The menu is a little simple in comparison to top Melbourne Japanese restaurants. They could bring in some exclusive items from Japan such as Matsutake mushrooms as an option.
